By using set techniques and strategies, Focushub is able to provide Start-ups with the assistance they need to grow an idea to a full-fledged business that can win. We believe in developing the entrepreneur alongside the business as it is crucial to ensure business survival and growth. At every stage of the business lifecycle, the needs and requirement of each business varies, we are able to provide services that are flexible and fit those needs.
Our Long Term Strategy
- Incubate and grow 25 Technology startups across Niger Delta in the first 2 years creating 125 jobs and another 75 in the another 3 years with a total of 375 jobs over a period of 5 years
- Support 1000 SMEs/Startups across Niger Delta through mentoring, market linkages, training intervention and business development services to generate and sustain 5,000 jobs with an estimated turnover of a $1B in 5 years
- Using ICT to provide creative and innovative solutions to social and environmental challenges experienced in the Niger Delta
- Encourage Niger delta’s women participation in technology
- Develop digital skills in 4,000 young people between the ages of 18-40 over the next 5 years hence empowering them to be self-reliant
Co-FounderGodson holds an MBA degree from the University of Leeds, UK, a Bsc in Industrial and production engineering from University of Ibadan, Ibadan and a diploma in Management Consulting from the Institute of Management Consulting in the UK. He has worked in a number of entrepreneurship projects such as the Federal government of Nigeria YOUWIN project and the PIND-Chevron SME market linkage projects. He is a business advisor on the Stanford SEED program and also mentors a number of startups in the Niger Delta. Godson is pro-Niger Delta and interested in how digital startups can catalyze economic development in the Niger Delta.
Co-FounderIkechukwu has had extensive experience in the world of IM & IT. He has expertise with several aspects including computer programming across several levels, Web apps and databases, server administration, embedded systems, and electronics and hardware, etc, having obtained his first degree in Computer Engineering from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology. He is currently concluding his MSc in Automation and Control with the Imperial College London. Ikechukwu also has long experience in Project Management. He works with the Project Management Office in a multinational energy company as a Project Management analyst, supporting million-dollar projects on Benchmarking, Risk Management, and on their Cost and Schedule promises. From an early age, he has had deep interest in studying how things and systems work, and specific interest in computers. He has a personal desire to see IM & IT tools being deployed to solve real life challenges in society. Nigeria in general, and the Niger Delta area in particular, needs people to brainstorm and generate home-grown solutions which can find direct application to mitigate the socio-economic as well as technical and logistical challenges which are unique to our area. He is a co-founder of FocusHub. He provides technical, business and management mentoring and support to the hub’s activities as well as to startups being hosted.
AdvisorOnyeka Igwebuike holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Management and Strategy from the Aston University Birmingham, Masters in Management and Global Entrepreneurship from Franklin .W.Olin Graduate School of Business, EMLyon Business School France and Zhejiang University, China. Previous engagements include working as a finance analyst for Walt Disney, London, Operations Manager at Descon Steel Company Nigeria and Portfolio Executive for Generation Enterprise. Onyeka is very passionate about economic empowerment, poverty alleviation and forward thinking startups.
Social Media ManagerSharon holds a B.Sc in Plant Science and Biotechnology with a major in Environmental Plant Science from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She is currently the Lead organizer for Women Techmakers Port Harcourt and the County Lead for Women in Tech Africa. Her passion for technology and youth leadership has earned her opportunities to work in large international tech and youth organizations like GOOGLE INC, AIESEC, and WAAW Foundation. As a UN Online volunteer and research analyst, she has assisted to implement various community development projects around Africa. Sharon has a strong interest in coding and at such spends most of her leisure time learning and writing codes for website and android app development. She enjoys traveling and experiencing a variety of cultures around the world. She is also interested in developing the right entrepreneurial and tech culture amongst young people in the Niger Delta.
Chinwe Owhorji is a graduate of the department of Linguistics and Communication at the University of Port Harcourt where she specialized in Public Relations, working on a comparative study of the use of digital and traditional media in Public Relations.
She has over six years experience working for the award winning catering company-Pepperoni Foods Ltd and was the previous manager of the outdoor catering division. She is an avid reader, works as a freelance writer for an international writing agency, studies French at home in her spare time and is currently a PE1 student member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. When she is not writing or trying to pronounce the French “R” she spends her time painting. Her medium is the human face.
Holds a B.Sc in Accountancy from Imo state University and is currently enrolled for an MBA Degree in Human Resource Management with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). She’s a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and has had experience in financial management and administrative roles, which have helped maintain her resolve to attain efficiency.Nneka is an ardent lover of books and open to acquiring knowledge as well as improving her learning abilities. She’s also passionate about seeing positive change, growth and development in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta and committed to being part of that change.
IT Support/Web DeveloperWale holds a degree in Geology from the University of Ibadan and currently studying for a Masters degree in Petroleum Geology at the University of Benin. He has worked as a Project Manager/ Freelance web developer for a number of clients locally and internationally. Wale is quite passionate about IT and sees the solution to every problem from the IT standpoint. He believes in the Niger Delta and wants to be a part of the new history being created in the Niger Delta.
Web Developer - Intern
Ugonna has a bachelors degree in Software Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University, North Cyprus.
She has a profound interest in Software Development and Graphic Design. Ugonna is into Amateur Photography
and in her leisure time, she loves travelling and gaming.
Also known as ChuQ, Gabriel is a UI & Graphic designer constantly working on impact-full projects. He is a graduate of Engineering at Federal University of Technology Owerri where he studied Automotive Technology, but has developed strong showing in the art of using lines, colors, a laptop to proffer solutions to real problems. He has over 10 years of design experience while participating in, and managing a handful successful technology projects. His work and hobby are the same, but he likes traveling to new places and writing fiction.
Business Development - Intern
Victor holds a degree in Animal Science, with a major in Animal Nutrition, from the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). He has a strong interest in technology and social innovation. A Graduate-member of Nigerian Institute of Management, and an Associate-member of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria.
Victor has a head for business, and a heart for the world. His contribution as a member of Students in Free Enterprise(SIFE) now Entreprenuership Action within Us (ENACTUS) FUTO team, saw the team winning the “Annual National Business Cup Competition” in Nigeria, and the team represented the country in the 2010 and 2012 “SIFE World Cup Competition”, in Los Angeles and Washington respectively.
As a former executive (Budget and Implementation Committee) of Junior Chambers International (JCI) FUTO chapter, his effort was instrumental in successfully hosting the “2012 JCI Collegiate Conference” in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.
Business Strategist - Intern
Jehu Oreri holds a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He is a graduate member of the National Association of Petroleum Explorationist (NAPE). He has handled Administrative positions in several organizations and has worked on successful Entrepreneurial projects. Jehu has a hybrid passion for entrepreneurship, technology and organizational management. He enjoys learning practical things, making research, reading and establishing quality relationship with new people.
